Overall benefits of farmers in Bangladesh are not seen as much as the development of the agriculture sector. Ensuring the survival of small and marginal farmers has become a challenge. Despite bumper yield, the price of paddy increases every year, and farmers do not get their fair share of the profit.

বাংলাদেশে কৃষিখাতে যতখানি উন্নতি হয়েছে, ততখানি কৃষকের উন্নতি হয়নি। অন্যদিকে উৎপাদনের প্রাক্কলনেও সমস্যা রয়েছে। ক্ষুদ্র ও প্রান্তিক কৃষককে রক্ষ্যা করাই এই খাতে মূল চ্যালেঞ্জ। আগামী বোরো ধান চাষের পরবর্তী সময়ে খাদ্য পরিস্থিতিকে নজরদারির মধ্যে রাখতে হবে। বর্তমানে চালের বাড়তি দাম যেন উৎপাদকের কাছে পৌঁছাতে পারে, তা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। অন্যদিকে, চালের দাম যেন নিম্ন আয়ের পরিবারগুলোর ওপর চাপ সৃষ্টি না করে তা খেয়াল রাখতে হবে।
