Private sector’s activities targeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) needs to be well structured and enhanced. Moreover, their work is not very well documented. They should have a targeted plan of action for achieving different targets of SDGs.
Relevant stakeholders need to play an effective role in implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. In the SDGs implementation process, media will play a vital role to ensure data availability, transparency and accountability.
At present more than one third of the population of Bangladesh belong to the youth cohort, aged between 18-35 years. It is high time for the country to utilise this young cohort towards national development while the country is in the pursuit of realising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. If empowered and utilised properly, the youth will the lead the nation to achieve the SDGs.
The Government of Bangladesh is committed to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Hence, they are aligning their national development policies and strategies accordingly. The civil society organisations have been contributing to the national development since the independence. Strong synergies with the government organisations will collectively enhance the country’s capacity to deliver the ambitious development agenda of SDGs.
Bangladesh is in the fourth year of its journey towards attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. It is a high time to track and review the measures taken till date and the methods being used to deliver the SDGs in the country. The International Development Partners of Bangladesh expressed their interest in supporting Bangladesh in attaining the SDGs, particularly in the areas of human rights and good governance.
It is high time for the policymakers to reflect the youth aspirations in the national agenda and implement the election commitments. These views were shared at a dialogue on Electoral Commitments and Youth Agenda on 22 February 2019 in Rangpur.
Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh will be focusing on forwarding the youth agendas to the political parties and urge to reflect the demands of the youth in the manifestos to be prepared for the upcoming national election of Bangladesh.
In the 15 years’ time frame of implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the youth of today will still remain fledgling but with better skills, insight, and aspiration. The youths are the major beneficiaries and key stakeholders of the Agenda 2030.
১২ অক্টোবর ২০১৮ ব্র্যাক সেন্টার ইন অডিটরিয়ামে, দৃষ্টি প্রতিবন্ধী শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে বিতর্ক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম। বিতর্কের বিষয় ছিল, “প্রতিবন্ধীদের জন্য কোটা সংরক্ষণই টেকসই উন্নয়নকে ত্বরান্বিত করতে পারে না"। বিষয়ের পক্ষে বিতর্ক করে ইডেন মহিলা কলেজ ও বিপক্ষ দলে ছিল ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।
এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম, বাংলাদেশ-এর উদ্যোগে আগামী ১৪ অক্টোবর ২০১৮ আয়োজন করা হচ্ছে যুব সম্মেলন ২০১৮ঃ বাংলাদেশ ও এজেন্ডা ২০৩০ – তারুণ্যের প্রত্যাশা। এই সম্মেলনকে সামনে রেখে, বিভিন্ন প্রতিযোগিতা ও অংশগ্রহণমূলক কার্যক্রম আয়োজন করছে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম। এর অন্যতম একটি হচ্ছে আন্তঃবিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতা। গত ৫-৬ অক্টোবর স্ট্যামফোর্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এই প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করে বাংলাদেশ ডিবেট ফেডারেশন (বিডিএফ) এবং এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম, বাংলাদেশ।
