As part of COVID-19 response, Light House took immediate measures after the outbreaks began in Bangladesh. It has taken measures to save both community people and staffs from the virus Ensured hand wash point at office, ensure hygiene kits, mask, gloves, gowns, goggles and other PPEs.
Bangladesh along with other 186 countries all over the world is struggling to manage the global crisis, COVID-19. The virus is spreading rapidly in many countries and the death toll is still climbing.

2.23 million people living in slums across Bangladesh have been severely affected by COVID-19. They are in need of long-term relief support.
করোনা ভাইরাসের কারণে সৃষ্ট বৈশ্বিক মহামারি মোকাবেলায় সরকারের পাশাপাশি বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহ দেশজুড়ে প্রান্তিক ও পিছিয়ে পড়া জনগোষ্ঠীকে সহযোগিতার জন্য সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি, খাদ্য ও কৃষি সহায়তা, স্বাস্থ্যসেবা, নগদ সহায়তা, নিরাপদ পানি সরবরাহ ও পরিচ্ছন্নতা রক্ষা এবং ত্রাণ কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করছে। বেসরকারি খাতের এ সকল অবদানের ধারাবাহিকতা রক্ষা এবং সমন্বয় সাধনের জন্য একটি জাতীয় কাঠামো প্রণয়ন করা প্রয়োজন।
Light House has given high priority to save people from coronavirus. It has formed a high power committee at central level to address this pandemic situation. Firstly-We have prepared and equipped our 550 staff, how to protect themselves. Hand gloves, hand sanitizer, musk and soap has been distributed to them accordingly.
Currently SDI stopped all its regular activities/program for the cause of Govt. General Vacation but observed the situation gravely. SDI initiated response by establishing Hand wash points at different public places, distribution of awareness building leaflet and by erecting banner in the working area.
NU facilitated community forums - Citizens Rights Group (CRG) are working on 63 unions of 7 upazilas of Barishal, Pirojpur, Tangail and Rangpur district to aware people about the risk of spreading COVID-19, ensuring expats maintaining home quarantine, assisting administration and law enforcing agencies in maintaining social distancing as well as connecting the most vulnerable people to the government emergency support
ESDO is very much familiar with downward of accountability mechanism and have understanding on CHS, Sphere and other humanitarian & accountability standards. At present, ESDO is working with institutional disaster response donor Start Fund Network for responding COVID 19 pandemic crisis in three districts- Panchagor, Thakurgaon and Lalmonirhat.
Since 17 March to till the date, Caritas Bangladesh (CB) reached protective and preventive messages to 1,131,765 people (226,403 HHs) under 490 unions of 130 upazila (sub-districts) in 43 districts and more than 80 wards under 10 Municipalities and six City Corporations. CB implemented the followings to reach the above mentioned people.
