সম্প্রতি বাংলাদেশের সরকারি দায়-দেনার পরিমাণ ও সেটি পরিশোধ করার সক্ষমতা নিয়ে বেশ আলোচনা হচ্ছে। প্রথমত, বিগত সময়ে অভ্যন্তরীণ ও বৈদেশিক খাত থেকে গৃহীত ঋণ পরিশোধের সময় এগিয়ে আসছে। দ্বিতীয়ত, দায়-দেনা নিয়ে পার্শ্ববর্তী দেশগুলোর অভিজ্ঞতা, বিশেষ করে শ্রীলঙ্কায় উদ্ভূত পরিস্থিতির পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে এই আলোচনা আরও গতি পেয়েছে।
BANGLADESH attained its interim graduation from the least developed country to middle-income status in 2018 and is expected to achieve the status permanently in 2024 if it succeeds to meet conditions based on which the status is given by the Committee for Development Policy of the United Nations.
At present more than one third of the population of Bangladesh belong to the youth cohort, aged between 18-35 years. It is high time for the country to utilise this young cohort towards national development while the country is in the pursuit of realising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. If empowered and utilised properly, the youth will the lead the nation to achieve the SDGs.
The Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh co-hosted a dialogue with The Hunger Project to tap the grassroots’ voices regarding SDGs delivery in the country. The citizen's dialogue captioned Community intervention for SDG Delivery: Listening to the Grassroots Voices was held on Saturday 20 May 2017 at the CSS Ava Centre, Khulna.
