আদালতে মামলা নিষ্পত্তিতে দীর্ঘসূত্রিতা, হয়রানি ও অর্থ ব্যয়ের কারণে মানুষ ক্ষুদ্র ক্ষুদ্র বিরোধ স্থানীয় পর্যায়ে সমাধানে বেশী আগ্রহী। ইউনিয়ন পর্যায়ে জনগনের সুবিধার্তে এ ধরনের বিরোধ মীমাংসার জন্য রয়েছে গ্রাম আদালত। পৌরসভা পর্যায়ে রয়েছে বিরোধ মীমাংসা (পৌর এলাকা) বোর্ড আইন ২০০৪।
People are more interested in resolving petty disputes at the local level due to delays, harassment, and money spending in court cases. Conciliation of Dispute (Municipal areas) Board Act, 2004 is more often used by peoples who want to settle petty disputes and not seek help from court to save money and reduce harassment.

The local government needs to play an effective role in ensuring that the benefit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) reaches all. Thus, enhanced participation in the SDGs implementation process and empowerment of the local government is vital. A “Local Government Commission” can be formed to ensure proper harmonisation among the ministries and the administration and also to strengthen the voice of the local government.
Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh organised a dialogue titled “The New Global Development Agenda: Peace and Security, Human Rights, and Governance,” in partnership with Madaripur Legal Aid Association (MLAA), Transparency International Bangaldesh (TIB), and TIB’s conscious citizen’s group at Madaripur.
নতুন বৈশ্বিক উন্নয়ন এজেন্ডার আলোকে শান্তি, নিরাপত্তা, মানবাধিকার ও সুশাসনের বিষয়টি অগ্রাধিকার পেতে হবে। বাংলাদেশ সরকার বিগত সময়ে সুশাসনের বেশ কিছু নীতি ও প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেছে।
