The first working paper of the Citizen's Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh puts forward a framework to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable population groups in a developing country context.
গত অর্থবছরে বাংলাদেশ ৭১২ কোটি ডলারের বৈদেশিক সহায়তা পেয়েছে। এর আগের অর্থবছরে যার পরিমাণ ছিল ৬২০ কোটি ডলার। বলা যায়, করোনাকালে বাংলাদেশ উন্নয়ন সহায়তা পাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে সাফল্য দেখিয়েছে।
গত ৬ মাস বাংলাদেশ একটা অভূতপূর্ব পরিস্থিতির মধ্য দিয়ে যাচ্ছে। এই অতিমারি সময়ে বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্র, সমাজ ও অর্থনীতির শক্তির পাশাপাশি অন্তর্নিহিত দুর্বলতা প্রকাশ পেয়েছে। মার্চ মাসে অতিমারির প্রাদুর্ভাব দেখা দেওয়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই সরকারপ্রধানের পক্ষ থেকে দ্রুত কিছু নীতি প্রস্তাব আসে।
In a short but seemingly never-ending time span, the COVID-19 crisis has propelled governments into the dilemma of balancing the response to immediate health, economic and social fallouts, with long-term recovery. Some remain vigorously engaged in saving lives.

Covid-19 has been unfolding in Bangladesh at an alarming rate. As of May 15, 2020, 20,065 infections and 298 deaths have been reported, which are the highest numbers among all 47 LDCs.
COVID-19 reached the poorest countries with a time lag but now they are facing multiple shocks. Commodity prices, especially oil prices, have fallen steeply, global demand for their products has gone down sharply, tourism receipts have reduced markedly and retail outlets and restaurants are closed, leading to massive global supply chain problems.
