Bangladesh, in the recent past, has been able to achieve remarkable success in many fields. However, the country's development narrative has been foreshadowed by a number of fault lines that concern an absence of distributive justice in the areas of income and assets, unequal access to public services, and lack of participation in representative institutions.
Sustainability reporting is a critical hedge for Bangladesh as the country moves towards LDC graduation. It also has one of the lowest reporting rates in South Asia which is a matter of concern. The highly regulated financial sector has been the best performing, juxtaposed with the highly polluting industries such as the tanneries, which consistently underperformed in this context.
LDC graduation is a significant milestone in the developmental journey of Bangladesh. While Bangladesh is preparing for this landmark transition, there is a need to make appropriate preparations for this anticipated transition. The SDG Platform strongly feel that this transition is aligned with the SDG objectives of inclusivity and the spirit of LNOB. To date, the LDC graduation strategies have focused mainly on production, market access, preference erosion and trade.

While income losses and high inflation meant less affordability of household’s food and nutrition necessities, supply disruptions caused by movement restrictions prevented the uptake of essential health services.
The COVID-19 pandemic had caused an enduring negative impact on the lives and livelihood of the disadvantaged communities of Bangladesh, i.e., the traditionally “left behind” and the newly “pushed behind” communities. In view of this crisis, the present study, through a face-to-face household survey, focuses on the coping approaches undertaken by some specific disadvantaged groups in Bangladesh.

জাতীয় সংসদে ২০২২-২৩ অর্থবছরের প্রস্তাবিত বাজেট উত্তাপন করা হয়েছে এমন এক সময়ে যখন বাংলাদেশকে অতিমারী পরবর্তী অর্থনৈতিক অবস্থা থেকে উত্তরণ ও রাশিয়া-ইউক্রেন যুদ্ধের অভিঘাত-এ দ্বিবিধ চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবেলা করতে হচ্ছে।
২০২২ সালে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম দেশের সাতটি জেলায় নাগরিক পরামর্শ সভার আয়োজন করে। যার সারসংক্ষেপ এ সংকলনের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচ্য বিষয়।
