The Federation of NGOs in Bangladesh (FNB)

The FNB, a non-political apex coordinating Federation of the NGOs working in Bangladesh, was formed in 2003. At present over 300 big, medium and local NGOs are members of the Federation. The goal of FNB is to uphold, protect and promote the interests of the sector, ensure effective coordination among its members and stakeholders by inspiring the practices of democratic and secular values in programmes and activities.

FNB implements and coordinates its activities with the objectives of protecting and securing the lawful interests of the NGO community at all levels; Promote good practices, secular values and ethical standards amongst member NGOs to ensure transparency and fairness; promoting and supporting programs of member NGOs by creating an enabling NGO friendly environment; and enhancing capacity of local member organisations through training.

Most of the NGOs in the country are members of Federation (FNB). The reputed members, among others, are: BRAC, ASA, BURO Bangladesh, RDRS, ALRD, BELA, CAMPE, CMES, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, DORP, Gonoshasthaya Kendra, NGO Forum for Public Health, Nijera Kori, Padakhep, RIC, TMSS, Karitas Bangladesh, INAFI, CDF, VARD, POPI, RDF, CODEC (Chittagong), Ghashful (Chittagong), CDA (Dinajpur), Jagorani Chakra Foundation (Jessore), SSS (Tangail), SKS Foundation (Gaibandha), FIVDB (Sylhet), SSKS (Sylhet) etc.
