The “Citizen’s Conference on SDGs in Bangladesh 2017” is going to be held in Dhaka on 6 December 2017 with the slogan No One will be Left Behind. The daylong Conference will be organised by the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh.

The core objectives of this conference are to raise country-wide awareness on issues related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with particular emphasis on the pledge of the Agenda 2030 that the marginalised people of the country should not be left behind from the development process. The Conference will also focus on strengthening coordination among the organisations working on SDGs implementation and making their efforts more visible.

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), as the Secretariat of the Platform, has launched the Conference mnemonic and website. All the relevant information on the Conference are available at www.citizensconf.bdplatform4sdgs.net.

A draft report titled “Independent Review Report on State of SDGs Implementation: Interpreting Leave No One Behind in the context of Bangladesh” will be shared in this Conference with the participants for a discussion. Parallel sessions will also be organised to discuss the challenges of implementing SDGs in Bangladesh on four dimensions- economic, social, environment and governance.

Nearly 70 Partner organisations of the Platform will showcase their works on SDGs at stall exhibition at the Conference venue. Apart from the Partners, the Conference will also be attended by more than 1000 participants which will include government officials, representatives from private and non-govt. organisations, eminent scholars, researchers, teachers, students among others.
