The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh, jointly organised a multi-stakeholder consultation in Sunamganj on 29 September 2025 to discuss the socio-economic challenges of low-income earners in the climate-vulnerable Haor region. Participants highlighted barriers to resource access, limited social protection for women, and the growing impacts of climate change on livelihoods and human development.
The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh, jointly organised a stakeholder consultation in Sreemangal on 28 September 2025 to discuss the socio-economic realities of tea garden workers. The discussion highlighted persistent barriers in education, healthcare, and social protection, underscoring the need for inclusive policies to ensure dignity, access, and improved living standards for this marginalised workforce.
The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) is carrying out a research initiative titled “Reaching the Furthest Behind the First: A Human Rights-based Approach to Confront Extreme Poverty in Bangladesh.” The study focuses on five vulnerable occupational groups who, despite being employed, continue to live below the poverty line. Among these groups, Dalit sanitation workers have been identified as one of the most marginalised communities.
On 11 March 2025, the Citizen's Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh; the Office of the Principal Coordinator for SDG Affairs, Chief Adviser's Office, Government of Bangladesh; and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Bangladesh, jointly hosted the ‘National SDG Report (VNR) 2025: Perspectives of Business Leaders’. The event was part of the government’s series of consultations for the preparation of the Voluntary National Review (VNR), involving diverse stakeholders.
The event was part of the government’s Voluntary National Review (VNR) preparation process, which includes a series of consultations with diverse stakeholder groups to ensure broader ownership of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) delivery in Bangladesh. The inputs received from these consultations are expected to inform and shape the key messages for the VNR. The consultation with youth brought together around 100 representatives from diverse young communities in Bangladesh.
On Thursday, 6 February 2025, the Citizens Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh organised a critical stakeholder consultation in preparation for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4).
