In Bangladesh, more than 33 per cent of the total population represents youth aged between 18-35 years of age and the number of unemployed youths is increasing amidst the pandemic. Young job seekers are experiencing formidable challenges in securing employment and progressing their future career prospects.
In this backdrop, the non-state actors of Bangladesh are playing a major role in youth development and youth-related activities. In order to create a network of all these non-state actors, Citizen’s Platform for SDG’s, Bangladesh, under its Youth Pillar conducted a mapping exercise to systematically document the current youth-related activities of the Platform’s partner and non-partner organisations. This initiative aims to bring together the efforts of all these organisations under one platform for better coordination and collaboration.
বাংলাদেশে ১৮ থেকে ৩৫ বছর বয়সীরা মোট জনসংখ্যার ৩৩ শতাংশ। অথচ দিন দিন অতিমারির কারণে কর্মহীন যুবদের হার বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। আর তাই তরুণ চাকরিপ্রার্থীরা নিজেদের কর্মসংস্থান নিশ্চিত করতে অনেক বাঁধার সম্মুখীন হচ্ছেন এবং ভবিষ্যত কর্মপরিকল্পনা নিয়ে কঠিন চ্যালেঞ্জের মুখোমুখি হচ্ছেন।
এই প্রেক্ষাপটে, বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠান যুব-উন্নয়ন সংক্রান্ত নানা ধরণের কর্মকান্ডে ভূমিকা পালন করছে। এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম, বাংলাদেশ-এর ইয়ুথ পিলার-এর আওতায় তাদের সহযোগী ও সকল পর্যায়ের বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের চলমান যুব-উন্নয়ন সংক্রান্ত কার্যক্রম কাঠামোবদ্ধভাবে উল্লেখিত করার উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা হয়, যাতে বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর মধ্যে একটি সংযোগ স্থাপন করা সম্ভব হয়। নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম-এর এই উদ্যোগের মূল লক্ষ্য হচ্ছে যুব-কার্যক্রমের সাথে সংযুক্ত সকল বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে সমন্বয় সাধনের মধ্য দিয়ে তাদের একটি প্ল্যাটফর্মে নিয়ে আসা।
