Professor Mustafizur Rahman

Professor Rahman is an economist by training and currently the Executive Director at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Dhaka. Earlier he had taught in the University of Dhaka where he was a Professor at the Faculty of Business Studies. Dr Rahman was a Visiting Post-doctoral Fellow at Oxford University and Warwick University, UK and a Senior Fulbright Fellow at Yale University, USA.
His recent research focus has been on Bangladesh’s macroeconomic performance, trade policy and external sector performance and sustainable development, WTO negotiations and interests of the LDCs, regional cooperation and economic integration in South Asia. Professor Rahman has published widely in Bangladesh and abroad.
He was a member of Dhaka University Senate and served as a member of various national bodies set up by the Government of Bangladesh including Panel of Economists for the Sixth and Seventh Five Year Plans of Bangladesh, National Coal Committee and National Committee on Connectivity.
