PRIP Trust is a pioneer in the development sector in Bangladesh for her unique approach to capacity development. Over the last two decades, PRIP has established her strong position for comprehensive and quality program services to build institutional capacity, particularly of NGOs, other civil society organisations, networks and local governments to achieve their respective goals more effectively and efficiently.
PRIP was initiated in 1988, as an USAID sponsored project, titled, ‘Private Rural Initiative Program’ (PRIP), which was managed by Pact Inc., Washington, USA. From 1994, PRIP had undergone a carefully planned transition from a project to an organisation. Finally, PRIP Trust emerged as a Bangladeshi NGO in 1995. However, since 1996 PRIP Trust, as a national support organisation, has been implementing Capacity Building (CB) programs to provide long-term institutional and human capacity development support to the strategic local NGOs and various issue based networks and forums in a systematic and sustainable approach. Major focus of PRIP Trust is to build institutional capacities of NGOs, Public and Private sectors including other Civil Society Organisations, towards enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of organisational performance for attaining Good Governance.
PRIP envision a just and equitable society based on the principles and practices of good governance. The mission of the organisation is to build human and institutional capacities of State and Non-state Actors in the field of Institutional Development, Social Accountability, Local Governance, Civic Engagement, Gender & Development, Human Rights, Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change and Social Inclusion.
