PFDA-Vocational Training Center Trust

PFDA-Vocational Training Center Trust, registered by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), is Bangladesh’s first vocational training institute for people with Neuro-Developmental Disorders (NDDs). Launched in 2014 under the slogan “Differently Able Not Disable,” it provides vocational training, socio-economic development, rehabilitation, and a non-discriminatory work environment to adolescents and adults with autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, and other neurological disabilities above 11 years of age. The organization advances the inclusion of persons with disabilities across several SDGs through sheltered, wage, and self-employment opportunities. Its “Angel Chef” is Bangladesh’s first bakery brand run by people with disabilities, while trainee products are marketed as “Angel Fair,” and its award-winning “Karisma Cultural Organization” supports the mentally challenged. A newer project, “Angel Eco-Paper,” produces eco-friendly paper from aquatic plants. To date, PFDA-VTC has employed over 380 people, trained 2,980 individuals, and counseled more than 9,000 parents, building a strong foundation so people with special needs become an “asset, not a burden” to society.
