People’s Oriented Program Implementation (POPI)
People’s Oriented Program Implementation (POPI) is a development organization in Bangladesh that, over the past four decades, has championed people-led development by empowering marginalized communities, especially women and youth, to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion. Rooted in local realities, its integrated approach brings together social progress, economic advancement, disaster risk reduction, and humanitarian response to foster resilience, inclusion, and innovation.
The organization’s work is anchored in three core domains. Through Social Development, POPI advances quality education, healthcare, water and sanitation, food security, climate adaptation, human rights, and social cohesion to build healthier, more resilient communities. Its Economic Development domain expands financial independence through microfinance, promotes entrepreneurship, and supports climate-resilient livelihoods that drive long-term prosperity. Finally, through Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Response, POPI enhances community preparedness, reduces vulnerabilities to disasters, and delivers timely humanitarian assistance to protect lives and restore dignity during crises.
