Gram Bikash Kendra (গ্রাম বিকাশ কেন্দ্র)
Gram Bikash Kendra-GBK is a regional level non-profit development organization working in the northwest region of Bangladesh. GBK grew from a youth organization formed by a group of socially committed peoples. They had observed that large sectors of their community were being excluded from the mainstream economic and social development in post-liberation Bangladesh.
GBK has become a fully accredited NGO, working as an enabling force for vulnerable section of the community particularly women, children, elderly, ethnic, Dalit and other vulnerable communities as well as small holding farm producers, small and medium entrepreneurs. GBK continues to focus on achieving social change.
GBK has a team of committed and experienced staff who provides technical, social and motivational assistance to the rural communities to enable them to meet their basic needs and overall livelihoods improvements.
Presently GBK is working with 254750 (Approx.) households with approximately 10,20,000 (Approx.) populations, among which around 14928 households are from ethnic, 6987 households from Dalit communities and 232835 households are from greater communities.
