Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Bangladesh

FES – a non-profit political foundation, headquartered in Boon and Berlin of Germany, with a rich tradition in social democracy dating back to its foundation in 1925 – owes its mission to the political legacy of its namesake Friedrich Ebert, the first democratically elected German President.

In April 2014, FES officially opened its office in Bangladesh – one of the above 100 offices worldwide. Together with its partners, FES Bangladesh aims at facilitating inclusive dialogues on social justice, labour rights, sustainable development, and international cooperation.

FES outsources researches and organizes joint events with its partners on strengthening the voice of the least developed countries (LDCs) in global governance institutions such as the UN and the WTO, promotes trust-building and constructive working relations between social partners, invites different stakeholders for “social dialogue” events to support the development of trustful and constructive industrial relations between labour representatives, employers and the government.
