Enfants du Monde (EdM)

Enfants du Monde (EdM) is a Swiss non-governmental organisation (NGO), founded in 1968 and based in Geneva. The mission of EdM is to help and protect disadvantaged children in poor countries by offering them a quality education and access to health services. The aim is to help local populations improve their living conditions and become more independent.

Enfants du Monde manages projects in the priority fields of education, training and health in thirteen countries (Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Chad, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Madagascar, Nepal, Niger, Salvador, Tanzania, Switzerland).

In Bangladesh Enfants du Monde (EdM) intervenes several levels to strengthen  health systems; Providing health education sessions for pregnant women and their families in the communities, training of nursing staff in Maternal neonatal health, prevention among population through example through mobile application.  EdM uses two proven innovative approaches: the pedagogical approach known as “Pedagogy of Text” developed by EdM and the health approach entitled “working with individuals, families and communities to improve maternal and newborn health” developed by the World Health Organisation. EdM also focuses to build resilient communities to combat climate change induced health problems.
