Concern Worldwide Bangladesh
Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries.
In Bangladesh, Concern has been fighting extreme poverty since 1972. Over the last 44 years, we have been working relentlessly to reduce extreme poverty by focusing on 3 dimensions – the lack of and/or low return to assets, risks and vulnerabilities, and inequalities. These 3 dimensions guide us when identifying target participants for our programmes.
We have structured our work into 4 contexts – Urban, Char, Haor and Coastal, to tackle the existing pockets of extreme poverty in Bangladesh. We work through direct partnerships with implementing organizations, including various forums, consortia, coalitions and humanitarian clusters, to execute our development and emergency response programmes.
