Centre for Services and Information on Disability (CSID)
CSID envisions “An inclusive society where all disadvantaged people including Persons with Disabilities are living with equal rights, opportunities, access and dignity in comparison to other citizens of the country”.
Centre for Services and Information on Disability (CSID) is working to establish the rights of children and adult with disabilities since its inception. Along with providing direct support to the children with disabilities, CSID work to include children with disabilities in mainstream education. CSID is also working for ensuring the vocational training and decent employment for the persons with disabilities. One of CSID’s major works is Child Protection and CSID is advocating at community level for ensuring protective environment in all level for children. CSID provide resilience building training on child protection to children with disabilities and parents and caregivers of children with disabilities using a disability friendly training module.
CSID conduct research on different issues and as yet conducted 20 Researches including International Research on different issues which include – Inclusive Education, National Budget, working children, Education of disabled persons, Home based workers, Situation of Children and Women with Disabilities, Disaster & Disability, Employment situation of Disabled people etc. For Reports of Researches please visit www.csid-bd.org/research. Currently CSID is implementing 7 projects in Dhaka, Barishal, Bhola and Sylhet area. The donors are Save the Children, UNICEF, Handicap International (HI), Kindernothelfes, Leonard Cheshire, Manusher Jonno (M) etc.
