Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative (BYEI)
Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative (BYEI) is the leading youth-led environmental non-profit in Bangladesh, working since 2009 to raise awareness about the ongoing triple crises of biodiversity, climate, and pollution and inspire youth environmental actions to protect and improve life-supporting nature and ecosystems. BYEI’s mission is to empower youth with the consciousness, knowledge, and leadership capacity needed to tackle emerging socio-economic and environmental challenges and contribute towards building a just, sustainable, and prosperous Bangladesh. Since its initiation, BYEI has empowered more than 2,000 young people with consciousness and capacity for climate and environmental actions. BYEI has grown into a full-fledged, non-profit organisation with 8 divisional teams and institutional representatives in more than 20 major universities across Bangladesh. BYEI has developed its Theory of Change (TOC) and a set of 6 key programs that feed into BYEI’s four strategic intervention priorities: consciousness, capacity development, sustainable livelihoods, and accountability and justice.
