Mr Asif Ibrahim is Former President of DCCI. He is the Vice Chairman of Newage Group, a leading readymade garments exporter. Mr Ibrahim is also the Founder Chairman and Adviser of Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD), the first national PPD platform of Bangladesh addressing business policy reforms. Mr Ibrahim is a member of the UNESCAP Business Advisory Council and is the Chairman of the Taskforce on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. He is a core committee member of the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs Bangladesh. He served in the board of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) and CCIFB (France) and is currently in the board of BTCCI (Thailand) and BPCCI (Philippines).

Mr Ibrahim received his formal education from the University of Delhi and the University of North Texas. He was nominated as a Commercially Important Person by the Government of Bangladesh in 2007 and 2012.
