This book offers a set of summary reports that evaluate the development progress of Bangladesh, with special reference to the role of non-state actors, in the six Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified to be reviewed by the UN’s High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2019. These six SDGs are: Quality Education; Decent Work and Economic Growth; Reduced Inequalities; Climate Action; Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions; and Partnerships for the Goals.

The publication is a first ever intellectual contribution on sustainable development in Bangladesh through a non-government lens and is a unique analytical output that has been generated through an extraordinary participatory process.

The idea for this special compendium was conceived by the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh, and later validated by concerned government officials, representatives from the private sector, international development partners, media professionals and Platform’s partners, through focused consultations and presentations at a national conclave.

As Bangladesh is not the only developing country on the pathway towards achieving the SDGs by 2030, the appeal of this unique contribution extends well beyond the borders of Bangladesh.

Publication Period: July 2019
