এসডিজি বাস্তবায়ন প্রক্রিয়া ও শোভন উন্নয়ন ধারায় সমাজের সকল স্তরের মানুষকে সম্পৃক্ত করার উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে আগামী  ৬ ডিসেম্বর ২০১৭ তারিখে রাজধানীর কৃষিবিদ ইনস্টিটিউশনে আয়োজিত হবে “নাগরিক সম্মেলন ২০১৭: বাংলাদেশে এসডিজি বাস্তবায়ন”। টেকসই উন্নয়ন অভীষ্ট (এসডিজি) ২০৩০-এর ঘোষণাপত্রে দেয়া অঙ্গিকার ‘কাউকে পেছনে রাখা যাবে না’ – এ স্পৃহায় অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম, বাংলাদেশ এই সম্মেলনের আয়োজন করেছে। দিনব্যাপী এই সম্মেলনে প্ল্যাটফর্মের সহযোগী প্রতিষ্ঠান ছাড়াও উচ্চপদস্থ সরকারি কর্মকর্তা, দেশের অনগ্রসর জনগোষ্ঠীর প্রতিনিধি, সমাজের বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ, বেসরকারি সংস্থাসমূহ এবং তরুণ সমাজের প্রতিনিধিবৃন্দ অংশগ্রহণ করবেন।

রাজধানী ঢাকায় ৩ ডিসেম্বর ২০১৭ তারিখে আয়োজিত এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম, বাংলাদেশ-এর পক্ষ থেকে এ ঘোষণা দেয়া হয়। সংবাদ সম্মেলনে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম-এর আহ্বায়ক ড দেবপ্রিয় ভট্টাচার্য, সমন্বয়ক মিজ আনিসাতুল ফাতেমা ইউসুফ, কোর গ্রুপের সদস্য – মিজ শাহীন আনাম ও মিজ রাশেদা কে চৌধুরী, এবং ড বদিউল আলম মজুমদার।

ড দেবপ্রিয় ভট্টাচার্য বলেন, এই সম্মেলনের মূল উদ্দেশ্যগুলো হচ্ছে – প্রথমত, এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে প্রান্তিক ও  সুবিধাবঞ্চিত ও বৈষম্যের শিকার মানুষদের কণ্ঠস্বরকে আরও জোরদার করা, দ্বিতীয়ত, বাংলাদেশে এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন সংস্থা ও ব্যক্তিখাত যে অবদান রেখে যাচ্ছে সেটি আরও স্পষ্ট করা ও একই সাথে সে ব্যাপারে সম্যক ধারণা সৃষ্টি করা, এবং তৃতীয়ত, এসডিজি বাস্তবায়ন প্রক্রিয়ায় সরকারের সাথে বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন সংস্থা তথা ব্যক্তিখাতের একটি সহযোগিতাপূর্ণ ও অংশীদারিত্তমূলক সম্পর্ককে আরও জোরদার করা।

তিনি বলেন, এই সম্মেলন সমাজের পিছিয়ে পড়া জনগোষ্ঠীর বিষয়ে জাতীয়ভাবে জনমানুষের মধ্যে সচেতনতা জাগ্রত করতে ভূমিকা রাখবে, উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রম পরিচালনার ক্ষেত্রে বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন সংস্থা ও ব্যক্তিখাতের মধ্যকার সমন্বয় ও দক্ষতা আরও বৃদ্ধি করতে সাহায্য করবে, এবং পাশাপাশি সরকারের সাথেও সহযোগিতার ক্ষেত্রগুলো আরও প্রশস্ত করতে কার্যকর ভূমিকা রাখবে।

সম্মেলনে এসডিজির বিভিন্ন লক্ষ্যমাত্রা ও অভীষ্ট সমান্তরাল অধিবেশন,আলোচনা ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের পাশাপাশি সমাজের পিছিয়ে পড়া জনগোষ্ঠীর বিষয়ে একটি গবেষণা প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশ করা হবে। পাশাপাশি প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীদের নিয়ে তৈরি করা প্রেরণাচিত্রের প্রথম প্রদর্শনী হবে। সেই সাথে, এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন সংস্থাসমূহের কার্যক্রম ও ভূমিকা নিয়ে একটি প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। এবং পরিশেষে সম্মেলনের পক্ষ কিছু পরামর্শ ও দাবি সম্বলিত ‘নাগরিক ঘোষণা ২০১৭’ গ্রহণ করা হবে।

Citizen’s SDG Conference to Give Voice

No One to be Left Behind

The Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh will hold a day-long conference titled “Citizen’s Conference on SDGs in Bangladesh 2017” in the capital’s Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) on Wednesday 6 December, 2017. The Conference is expected to be attended by high-level government officials as well as representatives of partner organisations, vulnerable groups of the society, civil society members, private sector professionals, and youths.

This was announced at a media briefing in Dhaka on 3 December 2017. The Platform’s Convenor Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya; Coordinator Ms Anisatul Fatema Yousuf; Core Group Members – Ms Shaheen Anam and Ms Rasheda K Chowdhury; and Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Country Director, The Hunger Project – Bangladesh, a partner organisation of the Platform; were present among others at the press briefing.

Dr Bhattacharya in his presentation mentioned three main objectives of the Conference. These are: to strengthen the voice of the marginalised communities in the SDG implementation, to make contribution of the non-state actors in delivery of SDGs visible, to explore further opportunities for government and non-government partnership in the development process.

He said that the expected outcomes of the day-long event will be enhanced awareness about the need to include marginalised communities and groups in the SDG process, strengthened bonding and coordination among the non-state actors including private sector in the context of the SDGs, bolstered development partnership between the government and NGOs, and a wider partnership among the government, NGOs and the private sector towards achieving the SDGs in Bangladesh.

The Conference will witness through launching of a research report titled “Independent Review Report on State of SDGs Implementation: Interpreting Leave No One Behind in the context of Bangladesh”, open discussion on challenges of SDGs delivery in Bangladesh, various issue-based sessions, release of an inspirational film on “No One to be Left Behind in Bangladesh”, an exhibition highlighting the role of the NGOs in implementing the SDGs, and a cultural function depicting the rich diversity of Bangladesh. The Conference will also adopt a Citizen’s Declaration 2017 putting forward some suggestions and demands.
