Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF)
Manusher Jonno (MJ) started its journey in 2002 as a project of CARE Bangladesh with the objective of promoting human rights and good governance in the country. It became an independent organisation and registered with the Joint Stock Company and NGOAB in 2006 as the “Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF)” with funding support from UK Aid and the Royal Norwegian Government.
In the last 13 years, MJF has demonstrated that in partnership with NGOs and other stakeholders, it can efficiently and effectively implement community empowerment programmes to address the needs of marginalised and vulnerable groups; work on supply side to ensure responsive public institutions; bring about policy changes and law reforms through effective campaigns, advocacy and lobbying. MJF is now working with 117 partner organisations and 48 sub partners. MJF provides funding, monitoring, guidance and capacity building support.
MJF envisions a world free from poverty, exploitation and discrimination where people live in freedom, dignity and human security. MJF promotes human rights and governance through partnership with relevant stakeholders, including duty bearers, to ensure dignity and wellbeing of all people, especially the marginalised.
